I had the great honor to be included in the culmination of General John Hyten’s most recent Commanders’ Conference, the AFSPC Heritage Dinner.  Among the highlights of the evening was the presentation of the General Thomas S. Moorman, Jr. Award to the best wing of 2015.  It was a highlight because General Moorman was in attendance and participated in the presentation.

But General Moorman was there for another reason, to be the keynote speaker for the evening and to share his memories about the establishment of Air Force Space Command, now over 30 years ago.  In his talk, General Moorman said there were three people who were key to the eventual establishment of the Command.
