2017 1st Quarter Newsletter

The Lance P. Sijan Chapter started the first quarter of 2017 in a sprint with a vision of keeping the momentum going by involving more members. Our first membership event of the year was the Lunch and Learn at the Discovery Center. We sold out at 40 tickets. It was a treat to put names with faces and to see members who hadn’t participated before join us for the afternoon.

This was the first year of having the Wounded Airman Benefit as a Casino Night as opening night of the Cyberspace Symposium. It was a great evening and we look forward to making it bigger and better next year (March 5, 2018). We want to extend a very special thank you to the 561st and 50th OSS volunteers for the evening. It looked like they were having a great time while doing a terrific job of answering questions and encouraging donations

The Air Force Ball was attended by more than 800 people. It just came to our attention an attendee was a WWII vet. We were honored to have him with us. We now have a survey available to help us in planning for the Ball in 2018 (Date TBD). We’d appreciate any input you may have (kudos and constructive criticism). http://conta.cc/2nb2kbw . Some military networks are blocking the site so please fill out the quick 10-question survey from a personal computer. We are looking for volunteers to help with next year’s Ball.
