Lance P. Sijan Membership,

As we gather nominations for Chapter elections to be held in July, I am reflecting on the amazing time I’ve had as your Chapter President.  The volunteers that make this Chapter so successful are dedicated, diverse, entertaining and have become my very good friends.  Teamwork has created a force that was able to surge forward in spite of all the challenges and restrictions imposed by the coronavirus.  We’ve made huge changes such as moving the Air Force Ball to September from the familiar January-February timeframe and starting anew with a “Total Force” concept to recognize our new Space Force personnel as a part of the Air Force Association family.  We’ve kept scholarships alive and flourishing through our partnership with NDIA and AFCEA to promote the IMAGE Golf Tournament.  We have repeatedly been recognized for our Aerospace Education Excellence and we opened a new avenue of support and communication with our Colorado Arnold Air Society Squadrons and Silver Wings Chapters.  Key to our future success is the burgeoning interest from personnel at our local bases who are often first time AFA members, but are eagerly stepping up to volunteer for our events.  What happens with me?  I’m stepping aside, but I’m not leaving this team.  I love what we do and what we stand for and I hope you’ll keep me around for the long haul.  I do deploy in October, but I’ll be back after six months and want to continue to serve the AFA mission.  Being a key player in helping shape up communications for the Space Force and understanding how things have evolved, I will be a strong liaison between AFA and the newly stood up Space Force Association.  I think it is important to build strong relations and I plan to be a part of that foundation.  Thank you for allowing me to participate serve the mission of AFA:  “Our mission is to education the public about the dominant U.S. Air and Space Forces as the foundation of a strong National Defense, to honor and support our Airmen and families, and to remember and respect our enduring Heritage.”      Read more click here……..
